How To

How to make a perfect Omelette

Omelets is one of my favourite breakfast foods. But how do you make them perfectly? I've tried many different methods and recipes, but none of them seem to work! So today, I want to share some tips and tricks with you so you can make your own delicious and fluffy omelets every morning.

We should first know that eggs are very temperamental ingredients when making omelets. Eggs must be purchased fresh, preferably organic, and kept chilled until ready for cooking. You must keep them cool enough to allow the whites to form properly and the yolks to become too runny if they're not kept at the right temperature. This causes your omelets to look oddly colored. If you want to make omelets right away, it's best not to use eggs that are too cold.

Another tip is to separate each egg before adding them to the saucepan. The yolk and white should not be mixed together as this can cause the omelet's curdle.

You could end up burning the bottom half of the egg if the egg is added directly to the heat source. Instead, heat the egg in a microwave for 10 seconds and then place it in a pan. The heat from the microwave cooks the egg just enough without overcooking it.

Let's now talk about mixing eggs. Mixing eggs together is important. You need to beat them well. Turn the bowl upside down and grab the whisk to do this. Then, vigorously shake the bowl. This way, the air inside the bowl gets whipped around and mixes the egg thoroughly.

The fun part begins - you need to pour the milk into your mixture. Pour half the milk into the beaten egg mixture and then fold in the eggs. Don't worry if there are still streaks of egg visible; these streaks will disappear once you flip the omelet.

After folding the eggs fold the pan onto medium heat. When the oil starts to hot, wait for the pan to cook. Once the oil begins to heat, add 1/4 cup butter and swirl the pan to coat it. Next, carefully open the lid and sprinkle salt into your pan. Salt will prevent the omelet sticking to the pan.

Cover the pan once the omelet is formed and allow it to cool completely. Flip the omelet by using a spatula. Cook the other side for another minute or two. Serve the omelet immediately by removing it from the pan.

This recipe works best using whole milk. Skimmed milk is also possible.
