How to make an omelet that is perfect

Omelets are my favorite breakfast dish. But how do you make them perfectly? I have tried many different recipes and methods, but none of them work. So I am sharing some tips and tricks today to help you make fluffy, delicious omelets every morning.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. The eggs must be fresh from an organic source and kept at room temperature until they are ready to be cooked. If they are not kept cold enough, the whites won’t form properly. The yolks will also break down too quickly and become runny. Your omelets will look strangely colored if this happens. If you plan to cook the eggs right away, it is best to use room temperature eggs.

You can also separate the egg before you add it to the pan. The yolk and white should not be mixed together as this can cause the omelet's curdle.

You could end up burning the bottom half of the egg if the egg is added directly to the heat source. Instead, heat the egg in a microwave for 10 seconds and then place it in a pan. The microwave heat will cook the egg just right without making it too hot.

Next, let's discuss mixing the eggs. Mix eggs well together. Turn the bowl upside down and grab the whisk to do this. Now shake the bowl vigorously. By doing this, the egg is thoroughly mixed with the air in the bowl.

Now comes the fun part: adding the milk to your mixture. The first step is to pour half of the milk in the beaten eggs. Next, fold the eggs into the remaining milk. You don't need to worry if streaks remain. They will disappear once you flip your omelet.

After folding the eggs, place the pan on medium heat and wait for the oil to start sizzling. Once the oil starts getting hot, add 1/4 cup of butter to the pan and swirl it around to coat the entire surface of the pan. Carefully open the pan's lid and add salt to the pan. A pinch of salt will prevent your omelet from sticking in the pan.

Once the omelet has formed, cover the pan again and wait for the top side to set completely. Flip the omelet over using a spatula or flip the pan upside down. Cook the opposite side for another minute. Remove the omelet from the pan and serve immediately.

This recipe is best made with whole milk. However, it can also be used with skimmed milk.
