As she faced off against some of America's best chefs, her barbecue skills were put to the ultimate test. Roby was up against tough competition, but she persevered, even with a broken finger.

Roby is a psychology graduate and has worked as both a criminal defense lawyer and as a wine expert. Prior to appearing on Food Network as a competitor, she was a sommelier and paired wines with different foods. She was able to rekindle her love for cooking and the kitchen through this work. Roby grew up in a family that owned a barbecue restaurant.

Roby took up cooking barbecue after her first child, despite her legal career. She was inspired by her father's dream of opening a barbecue restaurant, so she took up the task. Roby signed up for a celebrity barbecue chef Harry Soo's cooking class in 2018. It was a success that Roby became a qualified pitmaster and she soon started working in a barbecue restaurant.


Her love of barbecue began as a hobby. But, she soon became obsessed with barbecue. At first, she made barbecue dishes from her back porch. Then, she went on to compete in barbecue competitions across the country, cooking alongside world-famous pit masters. She has since opened several pop-ups all around Dayton. She hopes to eventually open her own food truck.

Food Network BBQ Team Brawl 3 will feature two of the finest chefs from around the globe competing for the ultimate title in grilling. Anne Burrell will battle Jet Tila, Bobby Flay, and Team Anne in a dinner-party brawl. Matt Roth, a favorite of "BBQ Brawl", returns to the Austin-based Smokin Beauty along with his wife Thao.

Ann gave instructions to the contestants in the first episode Food Network BBQ Team Brawl. Jet and Team Bobby let them decide what they would make. As a result, Team Bobby failed to make his ceviche. Team Anne now has a significant advantage. Anne even grabbed Team Bobby's throat as he reached for an ingredient.

As with all Food Network competitions, the new season of BBQ Team Brawl features some familiar faces. Lee Ann Whippen, a 23-year veteran of barbecuing, will be the team's judge. She is also the managing director of Deviled Pig in Tampa, and a judge at the Kansas City Barbecue Society. She has been a star on television shows such as Throwdown with Bobby Flay and BBQ Pitmasters, and has won numerous state and international barbecue championships.


Flay, Symon and others fought for the best BBQ sandwich. Lee Ann chose to make a sandwich the traditional way, while Susie chose a more exotic approach. The judges found it too thick, but her pork belly banh mi was a bold experiment in flavor. Team Anne's hamburger was tasty, juicy, and served on a solid bun.
